New! WebSDK
Introducing the WebSDK
We are thrilled to announce the addition of browser-based play as a new component of the Skillz platform. Using our WebSDK with Unity, you can now export a build that can be run securely in the Skillz game site. This provides players with a quick and easy way to access games, without the need to download and install anything. This helps to further expand the reach of Skillz games, so that you can gain additional new players more easily.
To help you get started, we've added some new sections to the documentation, to specifically address using the WebSDK:
Build and Test
First, all the information on how to build and test your games for web are available in Building for Web - Unity. We've made sure to make the process of getting your game ready for web as simple as possible. Working with our initial partners on the first web games using the new SDK, most only needed a single day to get their games ready.
Launching Web Games with Skillz
Over the coming months, we will be providing additional automation to help make the process of getting games on our web site quick and easy. For now, please follow the instructions in the new Skillz Web page in the Launch section of the documentation to get your game live on https://games.skillz.com.
Best Practices
Finally, be sure to have a look at our Best Practices for Skillz Web, as we provide additional tips on how to make your game experience the best it can be in browsers.
