Located on the play screen (upon open) and within chat, Skillz News is a completely new section of the SDK. Skillz News supports a wide variety of content including images and copy, which enables a highly engaging format of in-app messaging to players. All content is game-specific and can be segmented by player demographics.
The use cases for Skillz News are limitless and drive value for game developers in a number of different ways. For example, upon launch, game developers can utilize surveys to receive concrete player feedback on the gameplay experience. This is especially useful for making intelligent game iteration decisions.
Skillz is updating Leagues so that there is a deeper payout structure, awarding Ticketz to players that rank lower on the Leaderboard. MegaTicketz Leagues will result in more players competing on the leaderboard and earning Ticketz as prizes.
Players that are looking to withdraw money via PayPal are now able to do so quickly and easily.
Skillz FastMatch allows players to select multiple tournament entry fees, which they would like to enter. For example, if Player A player selects they would like to enter a $1, $5, and $10 tournament, and Player B selects $10, $20, $50 tournaments, then both players will compete in the $10 match. The resulted effect is that players are matched quicker than if they only entered one tournament entry fee; players that are competing in sync tournaments will spend less time waiting to be matched against another player.
iOS and Samsung Auto Update
iOS and Samsung players are now able to seamlessly update to newer versions of a game when a player is playing on an outdated SDK. The result is a smoother game update process by decreasing player friction when updating your game.
Samsung Store Rating
Following the completion of the first match played, the player is prompted to rate the game in the Samsung App Store. By prompting players to rate the game in the Samsung App Store, games receive a higher amount of Samsung Store ratings.
A New Version of Landscape Mode
Landscape direction will now be enabled only for screens of the SDK that have a positive player experience. Some screens that are better optimized in portrait direction, and therefore, will automatically be displayed that way. By having screens in the direction that have the best result, the player experience is improved throughout the entire application.
Updated User Interface
A new look to the overall User Interface (UI). The core margins are now on the same on every screen for a cleaner and more consistent User Interface.
